Two Guyoil robbers continue to elude police dragnet

TWO suspected robbers continue to evade the police dragnet following an armed robbery committed on Guyoil Service Station owner Savitree Bhagwandin, called ‘Indie’, at her business place at Line Path Public Road, Corriverton, Corentyne Berbice.

On Monday, Bhagwandin was seated outside the business premises with an undisclosed amount of cash in her hand when two known men of differing ethnicities requested that she ‘change’ $2000. Before she could respond, one of the unmasked men brandished a black handgun which he removed from his left side waist, pointed it in her direction and demanded her wedding band and a pair of gold earrings totalling $120,000, in addition to the cash in her possession.

The bandit’s accomplice then held on to her right hand, pulling her into the office, where both men dealt her several cuffs to her body before choking her and taping her mouth with scotch tape. They then made good their escape, fleeing towards the Skeldon Estate airstrip.
Investigations are continuing. (Jeune Bailey Vankeric)
