President Donald Ramotar has received a congratulatory message from the People’s Republic of China.
Here is the text of the message:

President of the Republic of Guyana Georgetown
Excellency,
On the auspicious occasion of Your Excellency being elected as President of the Republic of Guyana, I wish to extend, on behalf of the Government and people of the  People’s Republic of China, and in my own name, our warmest congratulations and best wishes. The bilateral relations between China and Guyana have developed smoothly since our two countries established diplomatic relations nearly 40 years ago. Recent years have witnessed frequent, high-level exchanges, further deepened political mutual trust, fruitful co-operation in the economic, trade, mining infrastructure, cultural and educational areas and close coordination in international affairs.
The Chinese side attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations and cooperation with Guyana and is ready to make joint efforts with the Guyanese side
for the continued enrichment and expansion of bilateral cooperation with a view to pushing our bilateral relations to new heights. May the Guyanese people make greater achievements on the path to national development under Your Excellency’s leadership.
