Cocaine found in foreign registered vessel

POLICE said that six kilogrammes of suspected cocaine was found in a foreign registered vessel at the Demerara Shipping Company Wharf on Saturday. At about 06:45 hrs on Saturday workers on a foreign registered vessel moored at the Demerara Shipping Company Wharf, Water Street, Georgetown, observed a haversack concealed under a built-in crane on the boat.
The police were informed and on checking the haversack it was found to contain a total of six kilogrammes of suspected cocaine. No arrest has been made and the vessel was subsequently released.
