BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The members of the West Indies Twenty20 squad for the two Twenty20s in England have commenced intense fitness testing and preparations at the Sagicor High Performance Centre at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies. The members of the squad have been joined by the WICB centrally contracted players as well as players selected for the tour of Bangladesh. They will have a week of testing, training and planning before the T20 squad travels to England for the two engagements on September 23 and 25.
Players who hold WICB Developmental Contracts are also part of the camp to do fitness assessments.
The players have been under the guidance of Head Coach Otis Gibson and members of the West Indies Team Management Unit and they will play two T20 warm-up matches against the Sagicor HPC on Saturday and Sunday.
Preparation and Fitness Camp attendees are: Adrian Barath, Christopher Barnwell, Miles Bascombe, Carlton Baugh, Sulieman Benn, David Bernard, Devendra Bishoo, Nkrumah Bonner, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Johnson Charles, Derwin Christian, Fidel Edwards, Kirk Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Assad Fudadin, Danza Hyatt, Imran Khan, Anthony Martin, Nikita Miller, Brendan Nash, Ashley Nurse, Nelon Pascal, Kieron Pollard, Kieran Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Krishmar Santokie, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Shane Shillingford, Lendl Simmons, Devon Smith, Dwayne Smith, Kevin Stoute, Gavin Tonge and Chadwick Walton.
Jamaica’s Marlon Samuels has travelled to Australia to do an assessment on his bowling action.
