Charged with stealing sun visors

MAGISTRATE Hazel Octive-Hamilton remanded Michael Whyte to prison yesterday on charges of simple larceny and being in possession of suspected stolen items. The defendant (no address given) pleaded not guilty to having, on August 23, stolen one motor vehicle sun visor valued $14,000, property of Jagranie Persaud and being in possession of four other visors, reasonably suspected to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for Whyte, on the ground that he has no fixed place of abode.
Whyte will make his next court appearance on September 29.
