JOMO Marks, 38, of Lot 122, also of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was denied bail yesterday on a simple larceny charge. He appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton and pleaded not guilty to having, on August 25, stolen 20 gallons of dieselene, valued $20,000, from Sam Lall.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, successfully objected to pre-trial freedom for the defendant, expressing fear that Marks will not return if he secures the grant
As a result, Marks was remanded to prison until September 29.
