– had collapsed due to prevailing high winds
THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) has indicated that, at about 13:30 hrs on Saturday August 20, 2011, the pound at the Grove/Diamond Police Station, which is situated in an open field, collapsed. The Police said subsequent investigations conducted by officials of the Police Construction Section, Horizon General Construction Company, and the Superintendent of Works of the Ministry of Home Affairs concluded that this was due to prevailing high winds at the time and no other reason.
The pound has since been repaired and is back in operation as can be seen in this photograph supplied yesterday by the GPF.
