Police destroy 13 acres of marijuana cultivation

POLICE on Monday destroyed about 13 acres of cannabis sativa (marijuana) cultivation at Hauraruni Creek on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

Ranks conducted a narcotics eradication operation at Hauraruni Creek where a field of about 13 acres with approximately 15,600 plants, ranging between 3 feet and 12 feet in height, along with eight nurseries containing approximately 40,000 seedlings, three tarpaulin camps, 20 kgs dried cannabis sativa, and 2 kgs cannabis seeds. The marijuana plants, seedlings, dried cannabis and seeds were destroyed.
No one was arrested.
