Board officials to talk to Bravo, Pollard about CLT20

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad CMC – Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) officials will be seeking clarification from Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard about their availability to play in the Champions League Twenty20 in India later this year. The Trinidad Newsday newspaper reported yesterday that Dudnath Ramkessoon, chairman of the national selection panel, will be meeting with both players to determine their status for the lucrative tournament.
Bravo played for Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings, and Pollard for the Mumbai Indians – and both teams have advanced to the tournament.
“We need to know what are their contractual obligations, and if they will be allowed to play for T&T,” Ramkessoon told the newspaper.
Indications are that T&T may be forced to play in a qualifier tournament, along with the winners of the Sri Lanka and New Zealand T20 competitions, as well as an IPL team.
“If we have to play in this qualifier, we may know if they will be allowed to play for us, and then they may join their IPL team,” said Ramkessoon. “Right now, we have gotten no word from the organisers about the qualifier, so we are just preparing for the tournament in September.”
T&T reached the final of the inaugural CLT20 two years ago, when they lost to Australia’s New South Wales Blues.
