Three charged with post office burglary conspiracy

THREE men, facing a joint conspiracy charge, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Monday.
Krishna Ramnarine, Ivan Brown and Marlon Blackman (no addresses given) all pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on June 2, they conspired together to break and enter Wales Post Office, West Bank Demerara.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunte, prosecuting, said the defendants were apprehended when ranks received information about the intended burglary and responded.
The Prosecutor said they were in a motor car in which were two small gas cylinders concealed in a black suitcase.
Defence Counsel Vic Puran, for Brown, questioned, why would someone attempt to break into a place at 15:15hrs?
The defendants were each put on $100,000 bail and the case was transferred to Wales Court for June 23.
