Reward being offered for information on missing man

A REWARD is being offered to anyone who knows and makes known the whereabouts of Jairam Tilkuram also called Toney and Joshie, of Bloomfield, who was last seen, on May 24, at Black Bush Polder, another Corentyne, Berbice place. The information should be conveyed through telephone numbers 337-1021, 689-5925, 337-1060 or 693-1335, relatives said.
They said Tilkuram, 25, left their home to visit friends at Black Bush Polder but, having not heard from or about him since, they suspect foul play is involved.
According to them, the police have questioned several persons, including those he was supposed to be visiting and searches are still being conducted daily, with the hope that Tilkuram is alive.
His mother, Padmawattie Tilkuram told the Guyana Chronicle she is very worried, as searches for him have yielded no results.
She had been out of the country when her son went missing and joined the search on her return. After reporting to Whim Police, at Corentyne, too, she went to hospitals and mortuaries as well.
On the very day of his disappearance, she said she had spoken to him on the telephone when he called her to speak about his younger brother’s welfare and everything seemed well, except that he indicated he was going to get into some form of trouble but did not say much about it.
“I am really puzzled and confused at the same time, because my son cannot be found and I don’t know what happened and I am pleading for members of the public to come forward if they have information as to the whereabouts of my loved one,” she appealed.
Jairam Tilkuram came back to Guyana, about a month ago, from Curacao where he was working and was residing with an uncle, his mother’s brother.
