On Essequibo Coast…

Contractor mobilising to repair Devonshire Castle sea defence
B.K. INTERNATIONAL has started mobilising materials to repair the vulnerable Devonshire Castle sea defence on the Essequibo Coast.
The contractor recently completed construction on a section between Lima and Coffee Grove, where a new rip rap design wall was built with boulders along the eroded earthen embankment.
The same company also rebuilt the sea dam embankment with several tons of earth in a project funded by the Government, as well.
Meanwhile, at Devonshire Castle the entire eroded structure has collapsed in several sections which are to be rebuilt also in the rip rap design.
Government, over the past 18 years, has spent billions of dollars on protecting the Essequibo Coast shoreline from the Atlantic Ocean.
