Four new Assistant Commissioners among GPF ‘Independence’ promotions

SENIOR Superintendent, D. Grosvenor, who heads the Special Branch of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) has been elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner. And Senior Superintendent C. Jarvis; Senior Superintendent D. Josiah and W/Senior Superintendent C. Lewis-Primo who is the Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, are also promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner, as announced in an `Independence’ list of promotions within the force that has been approved by the Police Service Commission.
Also, Superintendents C. Ramsay, O. Trotz, B. Joseph,  N. Hoppie, D. Alves, L. Alves, C. Hicken and C. Trotz are promoted to the rank of Senior Superintends, while seven new Superintendents are Deputy Superintendents H. Dehnert, R. Emptage, M. Chalmers, K. Adonis, S. Mansell, W.Ramraj and W/Deputy Superintendent J. Clement.
Eleven new Deputy Superintendents are K. Mandall, B. Eastman, K. Paresharam, L. Denny, A. Simon, L. Isles, G. Rodney, W. Blahumn, C. Brutus, R. Das and F. Karimbaksh, all elevated from the rank of Assistant Superintendent.
Promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent are Inspectors L. Thomas, R. Martin, E. Gibson, A. Ferrell, H. Winter, E. Wray, L. Withrite, R. Banwarie, T. Reid; Sergeants K. Wilson, M. Dookie, W/Sergeant C. Griffith, Lance Corporal M. Singh, and  Constable V. Jaigobind.
Attaining the rank of Cadet Officer is Corporal R. Ali, while 22 Sergeants, eight females included, will now wear the rank of Inspector.
In addition, the GPF now has 40 new sergeants, of whom 17 are females;  74 new corporals  of which 24 are females; and 22 new Lance Corporals, six females included. These promotions were approved by the Commissioner of Police, as well as several others within the Special Constabulary and Rural Constabulary.
