THE management of CNS Television 6 Inc. has offered an unequivocal apology to Bishop Juan Edghill of the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) for the embarrassment and damage to character of the Bishop caused through a commentary by Mr. Anthony Vieira aired on Wednesday May 04, 2011, at 12:30 hrs. Management of the station, in a release, says it “sincerely regrets what happened,” and explained, “the operator received a DVD with two commentaries by Mr. Vieira and was told not to show the particular commentary with the ERC. Because he did not pay attention to the instruction, he ended up airing the wrong programme.
The release said, “I, Mrs. Savitree Singh-Sharma, Programme Director of CNS TV 6, accept the responsibility of the mistake made by my staff.” My only excuse is ‘to err is human’.”
“All necessary measures will be put in place to ensure tighter censorship of all future programmes,” the release added.
