FFP distributes ‘love gifts’ at senior citizens homes

FOOD for the Poor (FFP)(Guy) Inc., in keeping with its mandate to assist the less fortunate, presented Mother’s Day ‘love gifts’ to the residents of three senior citizens homes ahead of the May 8 observance. Conveying well wishes of the FFP Executive Director, Mr. Leon Davis, Chairman, Mr. Paul Chan-a-Sue and Board of Directors, several staff members of FFP paid an early morning visit to the recipients on Saturday, May 7.
The visibly surprised beneficiaries, who were overjoyed by the gesture, included those at the Gentlewomen, Archer’s and New Nazareth of St. Vincent De Paul homes.
They received bed sets, hygiene kits, cosmetics, shoes and nutritious drinks, among other things.
Matron of the Gentlewomen, Ms. Avis Cummings said it was a pleasure that the senior citizens were not forgotten on the occasion.
The eldest mother at that home Ms. Sybil Cox remarked that it was, indeed, joyful to spread love.
Expressing her gratitude on behalf of Archer’s residents, Ms. Olga Wills said: “It is refreshing to see FFP going the extra mile to make mothers of the nation feel special when some children are too far to make it.”
