This story got three sides – the Police side, the revelers side and the truth!

AFTER reading the Guyana Chronicle online yesterday, I was amazed and shocked  at the horror which took place at Windsor Forest sea wall on Easter Monday.
Many visitors from North America and the United Kingdom (UK), including myself  and many friends, travel to Guyana for Easter and the highlight is the kite flying along the sea wall.
The Ministry of Tourism is doing an excellent job in terms of promoting Guyana but, what kind of message is the barbaric behaviour which took place at Windsor Forest seawall sending out?
As the saying goes, “penny got two sides and story got two sides”. Well, this story got three sides. The Police side, the revelers side and the truth!
There must be a full and independent investigation at the highest level into what actually happened on Easter Monday evening in the vicinity of the Windsor Forest sea wall. The perpetrators, whether they be the police or the revelers, must be dealt with and the results published.
Guyana is a beautiful country with a great diversity of interests for all on offer and visitors should feel free to enjoy their visit.
Locals should also feel free to go and enjoy the wonderful tradition of kite flying without fear.
