GIT has not endorsed GHRA press release

THE Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) did not endorse the press release issued by the Guyana Human Rights Association (GHRA) nor did it consent to be part of the Programme of Activities outlined in the said release.
Further, the organisation takes strong objection to its name being listed in any release or programme without its expressed consent.

Notwithstanding, the GIT firmly believes that there is a critical role for civil society to play in ensuring compliance  with our constitution; free, fair and peaceful elections in Guyana; the rights of all citizens to exercise their legitimate rights as guaranteed by the constitution and a harmonious, just and peaceful society in Guyana.
Therefore, we call on all stakeholders in our society to cooperate in strengthening civil society and democratic institutions in our country.
