A RESIDENT of Marshall Street, Annandale, East Coast Demerara was on Wednesday last found guilty for the larceny of two sheep by Magistrate Shurdell Isaacs-Marcus at the Cove and John Magistrate’s court. Pooran Heeralal, called ‘Vinod’, was slapped with a $100,000 fine after he was found guilty of stealing two sheep valued at $40,000 from Boodnarine Loolaram.
The first time offender will be required to spend 200 days in prison if he cannot pay the fine.
Haslington mother on abusive language charge
A THIRTY-two-year old mother of four found herself in court to defend an allegation of abusive language.
According to Police, on Monday last, Sharda Budhu made use of abusive language to Camille Collins whereby a breach of the peace was occasioned.
She pleaded not guilty and was placed on $20,000 bail by Magistrate Shurdell Isaacs-Marcus.
