Cemetery murder victim died of multiple gunshot wounds
A POST mortem examination, performed on his body on Wednesday, has established that murder victim Carlos ‘Jason’ Persaud died from shock and haemorrhage due to multiple gunshot wounds. But, up to press time, no arrest had been made in connection with the crime.
His bullet-riddled corpse was found in Le Repentir Cemetery, Georgetown, on Saturday morning, after he was reported missing since leaving home to do an errand on Friday.
He was last seen alive when he left to purchase stock for his small grocery and the killing of Persaud, 31, of Lot 6 Ram’s Drive, Canefield, Friendship, East Bank Demerara, remains a mystery to the police and his relatives.
His motor car, PMM 2625 was discovered abandoned at ‘C’ Field, Sophia, also in the city. He also owned two trucks and jointly operated an Internet café with his wife, Anita.
Persaud also leaves to mourn a daughter, Ashley, seven and three foster daughters, Savita, Ambika and Anamika.
