KWASIE Welcome (no address given) was yesterday fined $100,000 with the alternative of one year imprisonment, on conviction, for burglary, by Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin.
He had pleaded not guilty, at Vreed-en-Hoop Court, to breaking and entering the dwelling house of Oberdan Ellis, at Best Village, also on the West Coast Demerara, on October 5, 2009.
The charge said the prisoner broke and entered the place and stole one portable DVD player valued $80,000 and $10,000 cash.
