Projects must be well planned, monitored to be effective

A recent letter to the editor titled “Suggestions for timely infrastructural works” once again points out the failure of officials and contractors alike to better inspect and monitor ongoing works meant to better people’s lives. He pointed out problems on roadways in Buxton, bordering the University of Guyana, Ogle Airport access road etc. Another letter writer thought that persons where slowly moving back to the place vacated at Stabroek Market. If true, this points out the tendency of people to refuse to obey the law and officials to continuously enforce it. Projects must be well planned, monitored, properly and timely maintained, if it is to be cost effective and successful.
