FORMER Regional Chairman of Region 3 ((Essequibo Islands/West Demerara), Paraig Sukahi celebrated his 84th birthday last   week Monday.
Sukahai became a member of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) in the 1950s and was a dedicated foot-soldier for decades. In the 1970s, he served as a Member of Parliament. Apart from his long and distinguished service to the party, he also   served on farmers organizations such as the Guyana Rice Producers Association (RPA) and the Guyana Agricultural Producers   Association (GAPA), with equal distinction in his capacity as General-Secretary of both of them.

The stalwart was also a voluntary organiser for the Guyana Agricultural and General Workers Union (GAWU).
He gave almost six decades of selfless service to the PPP and the working class. The party, friends and well wishers,   extend a belated Happy Birthday Wish to a true and dedicated fighter for the upliftment of the Guyanese people.
