KEVIN Anthony, of Lot 298 East Ruimveldt, was ordered to post $125,000 bail yesterday, when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a larceny from the person charge. It is alleged that, on January 28, along Avenue of the Republic, also in Georgetown, he stole two gold bands valued $150,000 from Anganie Parris but he pleaded not guilty.
Police Corporal Sean Blackman, prosecuting, said the defendant snatched the jewels and tried to escape but the virtual complainant raised an alarm and public-spirited citizens and police apprehended him and one of the bands was found in his hands.
The case will be called, again, on February 9.
