JAI Lall (no address given) and Andrew Jones, of Lot 72 Princes Street, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, on a joint break and enter and larceny charge. Particulars of the offence said, on January 28, the duo broke into the dwelling house of Janet Williams and stole foodstuff valued $100,000, a $22,000 bicycle and $20,000 cash.
Lall pleaded guilty but Jones pleaded not guilty.
Lall told the Court he alone committed the burglary and Jones was nowhere around nor does he know him.
The confessed burglar was sentenced to three years imprisonment and Jones was put on $10,000 bail until February 17.
