POLICE are investigating an armed robbery committed on proprietrix, Joan Williams and businessman, Orin Hutson at around 20:20hrs on Monday night, at Serenity Restaurant and Bar, along Joseph Pollydore Street, Lodge, Georgetown. Investigations revealed that Williams and Hutson were in the business place when two men entered, held them at gunpoint, and robbed them of their personal gold jewellery and two cellular phones.
Police said that as the robbers were leaving, Hutson drew his licensed firearm and discharged several rounds at them, hitting one in his face while the other escaped.
A .32 Special Taurus revolver and the jewellery were recovered from the injured man, who has been identified as Robin Akeem Holder of North East La Penitence, also in the city.
He was admitted a patient under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he remained up to press time.
