Chandarpal’s bar-hopping almost cost me my marriage

I PAID careful attention to Mr. Navin Chandarpal’s remarks in response to President Jagdeo’s comment on his non-performance as a Presidential Adviser.
My husband worked with Mr. Chandarpal for many years as a driver.
Our marriage was on the verge of breakup because of the unscrupulously late hours my husband was on the job, while his boss went rum-shop hopping around the country.
I was frustrated, especially in the mornings when I called my husband, to hear he was at some rum shop with his boss.
Overtime pay could not compensate for the deprivation of his wife and children.
In fact, my husband reported to me that Mr. Chandarpal’s abuse of his privilege had influenced Minister Jennifer Westford’s decision to remove overtime pay from the system, and institute a $15,000 flat allowance.
The amount of hours Mr. Chandarpal spent at the rum shops meant he could not be seriously performing on the job.
I have no other choice but to believe the story of his non-performance, because of the personal experience I and my family had.
