In brazen daylight robbery….
– after ‘sticking’ up porter attached to Ansa Mc Al
THE police are investigating an armed robbery committed on Ansa Mc Al driver Lugman Mohamed of Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara, and porters Gabriel Hubert of Republic Drive, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, and Vasile Cantzlaar of East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, by a man armed with a firearm at about 13:25 hrs yesterday. Police investigations revealed that while the driver and porter Gabriel Hubert were in a shop arranging sales, the armed man approached Vasile Cantzlaar who was standing by the vehicle and held him at gunpoint.
The perpetrator then reportedly took away a bag containing $1.6 million out of the vehicle and escaped on a motor cycle.
Investigations are continuing.
