$3.4M burglary accused granted $200,000 bail

STEPHAN Manning, of Lot 49 Lamaha Street, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on a break and enter and larceny charge. Particulars of the indictable  charge against him said, between December 30 and 31, 2010, he broke and entered the store of Nishan Ramnarine and stole a number of cell phones, cameras and other merchandise with a total value of $3.4M.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but requested that it be a substantial sum and it was set at $200,000.
The case will be called, again on February 2. (Nathalene DeFreitas)
