CRIME Chief Seelall Persaud said, yesterday, that the Police have a name for the man killed in the Stabroek Market Square explosion last week Wednesday but have to verify it. The man, so far identified only by the alias ‘American’, was holding the fragmentation grenade when it exploded and the Assistant Commissioner of Police said, as such, the deceased remains unidentified until proven otherwise.
Persaud said a few persons have offered names but nothing substantial to authenticate the man’s identity.
Meanwhile, Mark Hyman alias ‘Bow Wow’, in whose stall the device was detonated, has been released from custody on bail, pending further investigations into the blast that left the one man dead and injured 19 other people.
