Mothers receive 7 bundles of joy

Ringing in the New Year, while welcoming a new baby, is a wonderful chance to establish resolutions, traditions and expectations and  for six happy women, 2011 brought with it all of their hopes , dreams and aspirations wrapped up in tiny bundles of joy.

These blessed women all gave birth to healthy baby boys and girls at the Georgetown Public Hospital on January 1, 2011, ringing in the year with a bang!
Ms. Annette Boston of Section ‘B’ Sophia, delivered the first New Year baby , a healthy boy weighing in at 3kg 640 g at 03:54 hrs at the Hospital.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Maceida Wakefield’s baby girl, who weighed 2kg 340g was quite eager to enter the world and announced her presence at 04: 25 hrs, while Maceida was still at home. However, both mother and  baby are quite healthy and resting at the hospital.

Shelly Winter and her son Ms. Annette Boston delivered the first baby for 2011 at the Georgetown Public Hospital. It was a boy.

For 22-year-old Keisha Jones, her joy was twofold, as she delivered first a boy and then a girl at just after 07:00hrs, the first twin birth for the year at GPH.
Meanwhile, 47-year-old Shelly Winter delivered a healthy baby boy at the Diamond Hospital on the East Bank Of  Demerara at 07:00hrs, while Delva  Boston  of Melanie on the East Coast of Demerara, also gave  birth to a boy at 09:00hrs .
The seventh New Year baby, a girl weighing 3kg 600g, was born to 43-year-old Kim Mead of Russell Street, Charlestown, at the GPH.
All seven babies born on January 1st, 2011 were resting peacefully while their mothers were awaiting their return home and the beginning of their journey as new parents.
