THE respective category winners of the annual Woodpecker Products Junior Christmas Singles Badminton tournament were rewarded last Saturday when the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) held a special presentation ceremony at the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) headquarters on High Street.
Apart from the players, parents and close affiliates of the game attended the ceremony, with GOA president K. A. Juman-Yassin, Director of Sport Neil Kumar, and parents Gemma Ramdhani, Gregory Camacho, and Attorney-at-Law Neil Persram assisting in the presentation of prizes.
The Ramdhani siblings, Priyanna and Narayan, were once again outstanding as they carted off two titles each, with Priyanna taking top honours in the Under-11 Girls’ Singles, in which Maya Persram and Ria Persram ended in second and third positions respectively.
Priyanna also prevailed in the Under-13 Girls’ Singles as Ambika Ramraj finished second and Kadesh Daniels occupied third, while Narayan took the top podium spot in the Under-13 and Under-15 Boys’ Singles.
Fabian Bianchini and Brandon Debidin finished second and third respectively in the Under-13 category, while Noel Shewjattan was the runner-up and Sanjave Singh was third in the Under-15 division.
Ajave Singh (Under-11 Boys) and Greer Jackson (Under-15 Girls) were the other category winners, while the GBA took the time to thank the sponsors Woodpecker Products for once again making the tournament possible.

Under-11 Boys’ Singles:  Ajave Singh, Christopher Camacho and Joshua Singh
Under-13 Girls’ Singles: Priyanna Ramdhani, Ambika Ramraj and Kadesh Daniels
Under-13 Boys’ Singles: Narayan Ramdhani, Fabian Bianchini and Brandon Debidin.    
Under-15 Girls’ Singles: Greer Jackson, Angelica Holder and Jonelle Europe
Under-15 Boys’ Singles: Narayan Ramdhani, Noel Shewjattan and Sanjave Singh
