INDIVIDUALS and companies looking for the perfect costume for the occasion can now do so by visiting the Mashramani Secretariat, at Lot 91 Middle Street, South Cummingsburg, Georgetown. There, they can view the outfits and interact with the designers at an exhibition started last Wednesday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Frank Anthony, who saw the display, said the designers were granted the privilege to use the venue on a long term basis to show off their creations.
The showcasing was previously done at the Umana Yana, Kingston, also in the city, where he called it historic and challenged local businesses to invest in young designers.
At the Secretariat, Minister Anthony said persons who went to the exhibition at the Umana Yana had been pleasantly surprised.
It was something really good, he said, congratulating those who created the designs.
The display on Wednesday included things created by Carol Fraser, Abiola Garraway, Neilson Nurse, Natasha Davis, Carlos Williams, Christopher Goodridge, Maxine Hall, Patricia Hellwig, Karen Ross, Paula Evans and Roger Evelyn.
