NATIONAL champions Priyanna and Narayan Ramdhani continued their dominance in local badminton at the junior level, when they carted off first-round victories in the Woodpecker Products Annual Junior Badminton Christmas tournament which got under way at the Queen’s College Badminton courts on Monday. In the Girls’ Under-11 Singles competition, Priyanna, who holds this division as well as the Under-13 in the Guyana Badminton Association’s (GBA) national championships, defeated Ria Persaud 21-4, 21-2 to advance to the semifinals where she was scheduled to meet Maya Persram yesterday.
Priyanna also defeated Amrita Ramnauth 21-6, 21-6 in a Girls’ Under-15 quarter-finals matchup to advance to the semifinals where she was set to oppose Angelica Holder, who had defeated Tisel Patterson 21-5, 21-5 in their matchup.
In the Boys’ Under-13 quarterfinals, Narayan Ramdhani defeated Amar Ramlall 21-8, 21-5 to advance to the semifinals.

Amar Ramlall defeated Michael Jagnanan: 21-2, 21-18, Ryan Amir got the better of Darnell Benn: 21-11, 19-21, 21-16 and Ajave Singh beat Jamel Ramsook: 21-8, 21-2.
