Dead man still to be officially identified

THE corpse of a man of African descent has been at Suddie Funeral Parlour for the past 16 days, awaiting official identification.
Chairperson of the Health, Environment and Sanitation Committee, Mrs. Juliet Coonjah, told the final statutory meeting of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), yesterday, that, according to Police information, the deceased is 64-year-old Konlley Loulley, of Queenstown, Georgetown.
But no one has officially identified him.
Coonjah said the man had been in Charity Police Station lock-ups but complained of feeling unwell and was taken to Charity Hospital, from where he was transferred to Suddie Hospital, also on Essequibo Coast, where he died.
She said a post mortem examination was performed on the body to determine the cause of death but the results have not been disclosed.
