The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) yesterday promoted 54 Cadet Officers to the rank of Ensigns, representing the largest batch ever to come out from a Standard Officer’s Course and Reserve Officer’s Course conducted by the Army.

The newly promoted Ensigns received their new badges of rank at an Ensigncy Parade at Base Camp Ayanganna.

The promotion signals that the newly decorated officers are a step closer to becoming full-fledged officers.
