THE Essequibo Coast praant of Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will stage its annual Deepavali motorcade Saturday evening.
Chairman of the branch, Mr. Doodnauth Singh said all devotees of mandirs across Essequibo Coast and Pomeroon are expected to participate.
He said participating vehicles must be decorated and illuminated and travel from Affiance Mandir, at 19:00 h, to Anna Regina Community Centre Ground along the public road.
Singh said points will be awarded for discipline, music, punctuality, lights, relevance, depiction and originality. The first prize is $60,000, second $50,000 and third $40,000.
The fourth prize winner will receive $30,000 and fifth $25,000 and each participant mandir would be given special prizes.
After the motorcade reaches the Anna Regina venue, a grand cultural show will be staged.
