THE day after Tyrone Kacey Rowe alias ‘Cobra’ was taken into custody Police continued to grill him about robberies and murder. Crime Chief Seelall Persaud told the Guyana Chronicle the investigations surrounding the surrendered 17-year-old are ongoing.
In a dramatic incident Thursday morning, Rowe was with media personnel and pardoned treason accused Mark Benschop when he gave himself up to Police, who were summoned to D’Urban Street and Louis Row, in Georgetown.
Rowe tearfully related how he had escaped a Police dragnet earlier that day having heard policemen, in Le Repentir Cemetery, allegedly discussing how they would kill him.
A news reporter had telephoned a senior officer at Brickdam Police Station, informing that Rowe, for whom a wanted bulletin had been issued recently, was ready to surrender.
Acting promptly on the information, the Police hurried to the scene and arrested Rowe.
