Kissoon should focus on corruption closer to himself

I applaud Mr. Freddie Kissoon for writing about corruption. Corruption does not belong in our society and the President has called on the nation to provide evidence so he can deal with the corrupt. So far, Kissoon has come up empty. One cannot just attack the government for corruption and provide no evidence — that is politicking and does not belong in a column from an academic.
The police or the President cannot act on hearsay or mere gossips. They need hard evidence. Going after people for corruption without solid evidence will be maligning people’s reputation like what Kissoon is doing almost daily in his columns. Kissoon just tarnishes people’s reputation needlessly.
He needs to be civil in his tone when writing. Instead of the attack mode, he should choose a discursive, rational, accurate, and scientific mode.
Kissoon should note that corruption does not only exist in the government arena but also in the academic arena. If a UG lecturer misleads people into thinking he is a “doctor”, is that not a form of corruption? If a lecturer lies about others, is that not corruption?  If a lecturer, has been repeatedly found to be lying and has been repeatedly shown to mislead the public, is that not corruption? If a writer is deceptive, is that not corruption? If a writer distorts information and manufactures information, is that not corruption? Kissoon provides info that has been repeatedly shredded to pieces for their inaccuracies. That is corruption. Not so Fred?
While I think government expenditures should be scrutinised and any corrupt practices (with evidence supplied) should be exposed and the corrupt punished, Mr. Kissoon should begin to focus on corruption closer to himself. Only then will he have some credibility. He should explain to the public why he lies and distorts facts and when exposed refuses to apologise.
