A 43-year-old security guard was yesterday killed on the spot while riding his pedal cycle to work on the Anna Regina Public Road on the Essequibo Coast.
Dead is Ronald Gagdrinauth, who was posted at the Regional Chairman’s compound at Anna Regina.
Reports reaching the Chronicle said that Gadrinauth was hit off his bicycle by a long-base water distribution truck, one of the wheels of which ran over his chest. He bled profusely from his ear, nose and mouth, and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Suddie Hospital. The driver was taken into police custody.
At the time of the accident, the man was carrying on his back a bag containing his dinner.
Gagdrinauth leaves to mourn his wife, two small children and other relatives.
Police are investigating.
