A suspect is in police custody following the murder of Uitvlugt fisherman, Nandlall Bopat on Tuesday. Acting on information received, the police arrested the suspect at about 13:40hrs yesterday at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.
Police said Bopat, 43, of Uitvlugt Squatting Area, West Coast Demerara, was stabbed to death at about 12:30 hrs on Tuesday last, during an argument with another man.
He was stabbed repeatedly about the body and taken to the Lenora Cottage Hospital, where he succumbed while receiving medical attention.
