Colin Anthony, (no address given) and Shawndell Thomas, (no address given) were yesterday remanded to prison on a joint robbery under arms charge. The duo appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton and were not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on July 30, armed with ice picks, they robbed Jerald Baptiste of one motor car valued $2.8M, one gold chain valued $12,000, and one cellular phone priced at $10,000.
Police Sergeant Shellon Daniels, prosecuting, objected to bail and requested a date to apply the Administration of Justice Act (AJA) and for statements to be served.
The application was granted and the duo will return to court on August 10.
Meanwhile, in the same court Andrew Thomas, (no address given) was also remanded to prison on charges of robbery under arms, possession of an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
He was not required to plead to the robbery under arms charge, which stated that on July 31, armed with a gun, he robbed Wayne Forde of $7,000 cash. And on the same day, he had a .22 revolver along with three matching rounds without being the holder of a firearm licence. He pleaded not guilty.
Forde was remanded to prison and will return to court on August 16.
