THE selling of alcohol at weddings is very disturbing and troublesome. Editor, for a number of years now, the selling of alcohol at some weddings have led me to believe that there is no authority that controls the sale of alcohol. However, I will be extremely grateful if someone can educate me upon any license that allows people to sell alcohol at weddings that I may be ignorant of. If we conduct an investigation we are sure to find that the causes for many accidents are as a result of alcohol consumption by persons who attend weddings, intoxicate themselves, and on their way back home, they are dead. All these things happen and yet there is a continuous selling of alcohol at many weddings. All these things happen and yet people will never learn. Yet they continue to sell alcohol at weddings, and watch with joy, their children intoxicating themselves, go against the laws and drive, and how sad it is that they watch and weep at the death of their children.
Where has the power of reasoning in people gone? Why people can’t think and then act? Only when we are faced with the reactions of our actions, then and only then, we get serious. Only when we watch the death of our sons, then and only then, we get sense. Why we can’t stop our nonsense now, before it’s too late? The selling of alcohol at weddings must stop.
Editor, I suggest that legal action should be taken on this issue, and simultaneously our dedicated and most hardworking police should be on the look out for those law breakers who drink and merry themselves at weddings and without fear of the law, they drive with the hope of reaching home. Our police should set out for these law breakers not far from the wedding houses. Also people should see it as their right to report situations where they saw someone consuming alcohol and then go and drive without any fear. Do not be afraid. Truth must prevail. People must obey the law.
Is it legal for people to sell alcohol at weddings?
