ENGLAND bowler Graeme Swann has been charged with drink driving, police have confirmed.
The Nottinghamshire spinner was stopped by police in West Bridgford, Nottingham, on April 2 and police have now confirmed that he was charged last month. “Graeme Swann of West Bridgford was charged on June 8 2010 with driving a motor vehicle when (his) alcohol level was above the limit,” a police spokeswoman said.
The 31-year-old is expected to appear in court in Nottingham on August 16.
Swann was named Cricketer-of-the-Year by the England and Wales Cricket Board in May.
England begin a four-Test series against Pakistan on July 29 and follow that with two Twenty20 matches and a five-match one-day international series. (Eurosport)
