THE Guyana Police Force (GPF) yesterday reacted to the Kaieteur News Wednesday, July 14 article, under the caption ‘RC caught on camera having sex with female prisoner in lock-ups’.
A release said the GPF wishes to inform the general public that, based on the allegations made, the appointment of the Rural Constable (RC) involved has been revoked and he is no longer attached to East La Penitence Police Station.
The release said a check of the closed circuit cameras at the station did not reveal the man having sex with the female prisoner but did show him and her at the door of the lock-ups.
The statement said investigations into the matter are continuing.
Kaieteur News said the woman was being detained pending her Court date.
