Disgusted with literature promoting racial segregation

I WISH to register my disgust with reading literature that promotes racial segregation and my disappointment with the many letter writers, bloggers and columnist (Freddie Kissoon in particular) whose sole intention, it seems, is to create political and civil unrest in Guyana, now with the upcoming 2011 elections fast approaching. Let us not forget previous elections where confusion was purposely created in order to hamper a free and democratic elections process. Let’s not forget the looting, the burnings in the streets and the injuries as well as the loss of civilian lives at the hands of anti-government protesters because of flaring racial tensions.
Racial segregation has only contributed to a failing, social and political atmosphere. It is time to stop pointing fingers and become constructive with our actions and criticisms. Instead of us wasting time on promoting the issue and fueling the fire, we need to come together as one. “One People, One Nation, One Destiny”. This is the motto that all Guyanese should follow. This is a call on Freddie Kissoon, Eric Phillips and others to put this obsession with race and differences behind us and work towards a more developed and better marketed Guyana.
