Ottley retained as captain of T&T U19 team

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – All-rounder Yannick Ottley has been retained as captain of the Trinidad & Tobago Under-19 team, which will take part in the TCL Group West Indies Youth championship to be staged in St Lucia from July 4 to August 5. Ottley is one of eight players returning from last year’s squad, which finished second in last year’s three-day competition, and reached the semi-finals in the One-day competition in Jamaica.
The others are Nicholas Alexis, Sachin Boodram, Yannic Cariah, Teshawn Castro, Evin Lewis, Rickson Maniram, and Kissoondath Magram.
Ottley, Cariah, and Lewis were also members of the West Indies Under-19 team, which finished third in the Youth World Cup in New Zealand earlier this year.
Among the newcomers named in the 14-member squad are former West Indies Under-15 captain and wicketkeeper Stephen Katwaroo, and left-arm spinner Derone Davis.
Former West Indies fast bowler Tony Gray returns as coach of the team, and former national all-rounder Roland Sampath will be the manager.
