LEICESTER, England CMC – West Indies-A suffered a setback on their tour of England, when the opening day of their ‘Test’ against India-A was washed out yesterday.
Not a ball was bowled at Grace Road, where the A-Team were forced to complete their final practice session indoors on Wednesday after rain swept across the venue.
A-Team coach Hendy Springer reported that his side had been restricted to all indoor sessions, since arriving from Wales for the match.
West Indies-A did not have the best of build-ups to the encounter, with their three-day first class match against Glamorgan in the Welsh capital of Cardiff abandoned as a draw last weekend, after rain ruined the final day.
They were dismissed for a paltry 151 in their only innings, although their bowlers bowled impressively to restrict Glamorgan.
