$1M stolen in burglary at former reporter’s home

FORMER Guyana Times Reporter Lisa Lowe has reported that her Lot 152 Section ‘A’ Diamond New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara home was the scene of a burglary on Wednesday.
She said it happened between midday and 18:00 h when neither she nor her mother were there, they having left about noon.

Lowe said, when they returned, they observed that the gate and front door were open and the iron grill on the floor by the doorway, from where a padlock had been broken.
She said the entire building was ransacked and $1M she had stashed in a wardrobe, a laptop computer, a DVD player and jewels were missing.
Lowe told the Guyana Chronicle that, as soon as they made the discovery, they called Police from the Diamond Outpost, who visited the scene and took statements.
She said they have been living in the house for three years now.
