Judge further defers ruling in murder case
JUSTICE Roxanne George-Wiltshire yesterday further deferred a ruling she was to have delivered on the voir dire (trial within a trial) in the Khemraj Bhoodoo murder case.
Instead, the judge called for more legal arguments by Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos, for the Defence and State Prosecutor Latchmie Rahamat.
Justice George-Wiltshire said she will now rule on Monday.
Bhoodoo alias ‘Sham’ and ‘Shaw’ is indicted for the July 5, 2005, unlawful killing of Lilendra Roopnarine called ‘Boyo’.
The smaller trial was prompted by a Defence contention that the indictment be quashed.
