Three remanded on robbery under arms charge

Three men were yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton on a joint robbery under arms charge.
Avenesh Ramcharran, Jermaine Canterberry, and Leonardo Alicock, were not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that on May 21, armed with a gun they robbed Rajendra Singh of a quantity of gold jewellery valued $2.4M, and $100,000 cash.

Attorney-at-law Mr. Mohamed Zaffar represented the accused and requested bail for his clients.
However, Police Inspector Joel Ricknauth, prosecuting, objected to bail, and stated that the accused all gave statements to the police.
The prosecutor’s application was granted and the accused will return to court on June 21.
